Holly Sherburne is owner of Plate Poets Publishing and author of The Maine Plate: Maine Vanity License Plates and Their Meanings.
Sherburne is a self-described “serial entrepreneur” whose active career includes stints in microbiology, toxicology, Web design and newspaper publishing. In 2006, she founded the award-winning Downeast Dog News, a monthly print and online newspaper for dog lovers in Maine, a business that she sold in 2009. Sherburne currently works as a web designer and social media manager at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.
What began as a hobby photographing and deciphering personalized license plates led to an extensive collection of stories that family and friends encouraged her to publish in a book. This is Sherburne’s second book. In 2008, she published “The Ultimate Guide to Dog Parks, Beaches and Trail in Maine” [ISBN 978-0615274461].
