In honor of October being breast cancer awareness month, I want to share the story behind one of the many Breast Cancer Specialty License Plates in the state of Maine.
When Maine came out with the Breast Cancer Awareness plates I was pleased. I am a breast cancer survivor. My sister, in my honor, became an active volunteer with the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and over the years as race director the affiliate grew. She is now the first full time Executive Director of the Maine Komen affiliate and I couldn’t be more proud. I wanted to honor both her and all survivors. RAC (for Race) is for the Komen Race for the Cure. 4 is obvious. US is for all survivors and women and men everywhere. RAC4US to help eradicate this disease.
